Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church will introduce you to this special monastery that attracts pilgrims and visitors in droves from all over the world.
Not only pilgrims from all over Russia visit this so-called "Lavra", which is one of the most important monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church. Also visitors from all over the world are drawn by the special atmosphere that emanates from the monastery. Until 1988 the patriarch of Moscow resided here. On the guided tour to the town of Sergiev Posad (71 km from Moscow) our guide will give you a brief introduction to the history of the Trinity Monastery, which by many is considered to be the center of Russian Orthodoxy. Part of the tour will be the three most important churches of the monastery, where you will more than likely continue to run into a fascinating mix of tourist groups, pilgrims as well as monchs. On the premises a seminarian of the Orthodox monastery will take over the tour and will answer any questions you might have concerning Orthodoxy.
